
ROOTHING (HIGH), a parish in the hundred of DUNMOW, county of ESSEX, 4½ miles (S W by S) from Great Dunmow, containing 388 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Middlesex, and diocese of London, rated in the king’s books at £20, and in the patronage of Lord Rodney. The church is dedicated to All Saints.
